Phoenix International Raceway

So, why do they call it "International"? We experienced it all last weekend. Who would expect rain in Phoenix? Once the track was dry, it was back to business for the cup guys. Once again, Johnson dominated......looks like it's gonna be a 3peat. My grandson & I had a fun time!!!

PIR-Fall 08

The weekend was awsome! I took my 3 year old grandson to watch practice & qaualifying. He's really becoming a Nascar fan. The highlight had to be getting David Ragan's autograph. He's such a great kid and has improved so much this year. Only in his 1st full Cup year, finishing 13th in points is quite an accomplishment.

Fontana-Autoclub Speedway

Fontana, Hhhhmm. Another new experience. I got to ride in the hauler during the parade of trucks while parking them in the infield garage area. I wasn't sure that truck would fit though the tunnel and then to park 2 feet away from the next hauler....incredible. The race was good, couldn't see the cars on the other end of the track, but now I can mark this track off of my list.

What happens in Bristol, stays in Bristol!

The weekend was great! I loved the short, banked track! Steve made the weekend alot of fun, and an experience that I'll never forget! After the race, I only wanted more (racing), so I'm going to Fontana next weekend.

BRISTOL!

Just a few more days & I'm on a plane headed to Charlotte! Steve is meeting me at the airport which will be great! The drive to Bristol will be fun. It will be nice to see green trees again.
Then the weekend! Another Nascar experience! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures.

BRISTOL!

It's less than 3 weeks till my next new experience. Can't wait to see the track at Bristol, under the lights, short track, racing like it should be. Bumping and banging, gotta love it. Not to mention, I get to meet a fellow Nascar fan! It should be a great weekend!!

What to do on an off weekend?

My daughter graduated from college this past weekend so I took a trip to San Diego. It was an off weekend for the "Cup" guys so I didn't miss a race. Great scheduling, lol!! I'm so proud of my daughter. The graduation was at San Diego Convention center and afterward we went to dinner then back to the hotel just in time to watch the last 1/2 of the Nationwide race. My grandson was so excited to see those "racing cars"!
